Akshay Kumar told PM Narendra Modi about Toilet Ek Prem Katha – Complete Conversation

Akshay Kumar, who won the Best Actor award at the 64th National Awards for ‘Rustom’, recently met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The actor posted a picture with the PM on his Twitter account and mentioned that he got the opportunity to talk about his upcoming film ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’. He tweeted, “Met PM @narendramodi and got the opportunity to tell him about my upcoming ‘Toilet-Ek Prem Katha.’ His smile at just the title made my day!”

In response to which the Prime Minister wrote, “Happy to have met. My best wishes.”

Akshay Tweeted Again in Reply “Thank you so much Sir, It was indeed a pleasure.”

The film, which also stars actor Bhumi Pednekar, is a satirical comedy based on Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan— a governmental initiative to improve the sanitation conditions in India. Helmed by Shree Narayan Singh, it will highlight the importance of the pay-and-use toilet scheme and bring to light the issue of open defecation, mostly in rural areas of India. The film releases on August 11 and will clash with Imtiaz Ali’s Shah Rukh Khan-Anushka Sharma starred.
